Colon Cleansing and Body Detox
No CommentsAll about Colon Cleansing and Detoxification
Colon cleansing and detoxification have a lot in common; they are both meant to drive toxins and poisons from the body. Today many people when they hear the term “detoxification,” still think of it as a medical procedure that people go through to “kick the habit.” Others know it as something celebrities do on a regular basis to get their names and faces in the paper and on the internet.
History
Colon cleansing and detoxification have their roots deeply embedded in the religions of ancient times. Fasting was a way to get closer to the gods and pay tribute to them at the same time. They were encouraged by their elders to drink as much water as possible to effectively clean their colons and detoxify their bodies; only then could they obtain the sought-after religious high.
The ancient methods of colon cleansing and detoxification are not by themselves effective in today’s world because our diet and physical activity levels have changed so much.
Today’s Diet
Each year in the United States, the average American consumes 150 pounds of sugar and 600 cans of pop; that is the equivalent of ingesting 55 teaspoons of sugar per person per day. It is not surprising that we are a country made up of people who are stressed out, overweight, and dying at an alarming rate of heart disease and diabetes.
Junk foods and soft drinks contain dangerous levels of additives and chemicals in addition to sugar. Many of these processed foods are laced with exitotoxins, such as MSG and aspartame. Exitotoxins are substances that are added to foods and beverages that literally stimulate neurons to death, causing brain damage.
Water
As mentioned earlier, water’s use in colon cleansing and detoxification goes back to the earliest of times. The biggest difference is that today we are required to use purified, bottled water in the process because the tap water, rivers, lakes, and streams are all polluted with arsenic, lead, and other poisons.
That old adage passed down through time, “eight glasses a day will keep the doctor away,” has not changed, just the source of the water has.
Exercise
Colon cleansing and detoxification occur naturally when you exercise on a regular basis. When your heart rate increases and you begin to sweat, your body releases deadly toxins and poisons through your skin.
Positive Attitude
Maintaining a positive attitude about life will help you stick to your goals about doing things that naturally cleanse the colon and detoxify the body.
